Julianna's Emotions

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

I'm new here. Did anyone notice that near the end of the episode (especially during Carol's "speech" to Luka) that she seemed to be having trouble holding back tears? Like Julianna KNEW this was almost the end and she was having trouble controlling her emotions?

Also, when she and Doug were kissing (FANTABULOUS btw) both Julianna/George/Carol/Doug were laughing? I wasn't sure if it was the characters laughing or Julianna and George laughing becuase they knew that all over the U.S. there were people going "YES!!!!!!"

On the Today show Julianna said she could hardly get through her last scenes without crying. You could tell she was really choked up and it wasn't just acting (at least IMO).

Well, Julianna Margulies IS one of the industry's best criers, but I definately think it was the emotion of leaving a show she's worked on for the past six years. I heard that, during her last scene, she was very choked up, especially when she would see the camera men. :-)

Also, I noticed the laugh!! It was so adorable. I think it was the characters and the actors. The characters were so giddy and elated to be together again, and the actors were giddy at what they were pulling off. ;-)

Arianne, I totally agree! I think they were happy to have given us what we wanted; George wanted to do it for Julianna and they both looked so happy, like a reunion for both of them. I'm so glad they did it the way they did (in secret). I can't get over it!!!

Pure joy! I don't think I have ever seen Doug Ross or Carol Hathaway as happy as they were in that last scene! Those smiles were absolutely radiant, and I am so grateful to TPTB, GC, and JM for having that image be the last image of Doug and Carol that we see. Kudos to everyone, especially George and Julianna!

I remember reading about an interview with JM where she said she kept getting all choked up when she tried to say her lines because it was her last time -- the crying probably wasn't all acting.

According to "Extra," Julianna Margulies was so emotional in the final scene (with Clooney), that she had difficulty saying her lines. This reminds me of something I heard last year, that both Margulies & Clooney were really tearful during and after filming their last scene together. :-)

Really!? They were both emotional? That is very sweet.

It was reported that George and Julianna cried not only on the WB lot after filming their final scenes (evidently Julianna said she saw his off-camera tears and lost it) but in Chicago after they finished filming for his last episodes. He reportedly told her, "We will never have this again," meaning the wonderful working relationship and on-screen chemistry that so many people enjoyed.

awwwwwwwwwww!

Just hearing that, I hope John Wells is wrong and they return for a reunion for some huge event (wedding!?) I almost wish they were a couple in real life. I know, I shouldn't say that, I'm sure lots of people have thought that, but she's with the guy who played Shep (her 2nd season boyfriend). I've heard (so *I'm* not saying this myself) that GC is a lot like Doug in that he is not commitment minded, but they seem to have one of those quirky relationships that last in the real world, just like Doug and Carol. Sorry, this is wishful thinking at it's worst!

Elaine, I can see what you mean, but I love Julianna Margulies & Ron Eldard together. I think she & George Clooney are best as being friends -- she once said she views Clooney as a big brother. :-)
