What is the right way to handle the switch between "NORMAL" and IDLE-UP" modes

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Original Heliweb Q&A : One Thread

I was wondering how could I utilize a potential of my computer radio (Futaba 9ZHW), when I am switching the modes between IDLE-UPs and NORMAL hover in the flight and do not like the extreme sudden jumps of my heli. Assuming I have -3 +9.5 pitch range in my NORMAL mode with +4 at the middle stick, and my IDLE-UP 1 has -6 +9.5 with about +2 at mid stick.

When using a Futaba 9z radio, one of the things you could try using is the delay feature when setting up the throttle curves. When you go into set up the throttle curve, on the right side of the screen you will see a box that says nxt. Push the button next to this box and it will bring up a screen that says delay. Entering a value of about 20-30 % usually works well. Don't forget to set this in all flight conditions. Also, try switching between flight modes when you are in forward flight
