I think that folks are messing with her forum because she has NOT stayed around to take her "lumps".

Some of us have, very few, but some.

This has been addressed before, what concerns me is that this forum will end up being brought down because of some lunatic out for revenge.

Imagine the heat OTFR is taking for this one.? I had to really search to find out how it was done, I even got online w/my own carrier so I didnt have to worry about this happening to me.

My initial reaction to your short post, Flint, was one of outrage. Why? Because I thought I read your tacit support of such behavior. Then I realized I was reading much more into your words than was there. I hope.

I don't subscribe to any 'golden rule'. I don't retaliate for wrongs, imaginary or real, though I once was an eye for an eye kind of guy. I understand the desire to strike out at the offender. I find comfort in being the 'bigger man'.

I'm sure retaliation was discussed ad nauseum previously, however I was not here then so I would like all to address it now if so moved. Perhaps begin another thread?

Hypothetically speaking what level of retaliation is acceptable? Who is to be accosted? Cyber-violence only? Personal property damage? Physical attack? When is enough truly enough?

Tough issue for me. I don't really condone that behavior, and certainly don't engage in it. But I'm equally strongly opposed to selective protection of the guilty. Diane worked very hard to "disappear" people whose opinion she disliked. And IF she is reaping what she sowed, I can't feel very sorry for her.

I think it's wrong to spam. Hasn't this "GET EVEN" thing gone far enough? LL, I thought that a while back you said that you had found Jesus. If so, how about trying to get in touch with the feelings you had back at that time? Learning to release anger and the desire for revenge really does make for a happier life. I know, as I had to learn it the hard way through some lawsuits when people cheated me. Maybe ask Al-d about it.

Howve you been? Your voice would be valuable on some of the gun threads.

First of all, that was not Diane, it was an impostor. Diane has exited from the TB2000 field. She has started a new e-business, based on Sustainable Business, and has founded a new Greenspun website. The issue of this thread is that someone is linking (all?) responses of this forum to email alerts to her email, thus resulting in a sort of spamming; as well as some real spamming of her new forum. Some forum members suspect that the culprit is someone who was banned from the original TB2000 forum pre-rollover, and is now retaliating for previous censorship. Most do not approve of this behavior.

This is not the same forum as TB2000. It is now nominally uncensored, by someone who calls (him/her self) Old Time Forum Regular (OTFR). It has a more diverse group of posters than the old forum, and is not so narrowly focussed in scope. It naturally has a vocal group of pollys who delight in saying I told you so but what the hell, a lot of it is deserved. Not all, but a lot. I think you would enjoy it, either way.

The crazy lady got her revenge when the old board closed down because of her spamming. Now she is trying to do it again after it's all been settled. She's a cyber predator, pure and simple. She's pushing it too far and will probably end up in jail. She forgets that some people who read these boards are in law enforcement and computer security, etc.

I know people who work all day long doing nothing but monitoring forums for potential threats to security. Stop and think about this: Imagine the retailers and businesses that have had to deal with her. Let's say she doesn't like a product she purchases, so she decided to get even with the company and attacks their web site. You see?

Her arrogance is a typical profile. Cyber vandals are into the "power" of their keystrokes. She is self absorbed and not aware of the consequences of her actions. Expect to see her mug shot on the news one of these days.
