Atheist Outreach

I heard complaints a few months ago that there were too few volunteers to keep the AU Outreach Booth fully staffed at Venice Beach.

What is the purpose of this booth? How effective has it been in meeting that purpose?

This isn't an answer to your question, but some information. The still tiny AyoUth group (which has had so far 4 attendees, three regular) has decided to take a more active role in our outreach. Rather than throwing one person to it at a time, however, we've agreed to all dedicate the same time slot. I think it will help the table a lot to have a greater range of demographics among its staffers.

The original pilot date for this was May 13, but Srini and Matt had not realized that this conflicted with the Electronic Entertainment Expo, so we've rescheduled for this Saturday, May 20 at 5:00 p.m., on the 3rd Street Promenade (due to the construction on the Venice Boardwalk, and to get a new audience.) I know that much of the regular crew has decided to take a well-deserved sabbatical during the construction, but the more the merrier! So anyone who's free for a few hours (I think the plan was to go to about 9:00) that day is welcome to find us. I believe we plan to be in either the Broadway/SaMo segment or the SaMo/Arizona segment, and parking is $3.00 unlimited time in any of the public structures on 2nd and 4th all day Saturday.
