Pilot Injured, Passenger Killed in Plane Crash The Associated Press

TITUSVILLE, Fla. (AP) - A passenger was killed and a pilot injured Friday when a small-engine plane crashed in a heavily-wooded area of Brevard County. The plane's passenger was killed when the Apache twin-engine airplane crashed a few miles from the Space Center Executive Airport in an area west of Interstate 95. He wasn't identified pending notification of his family.

The plane's pilot, Patrick Sicora, of Belgium, was in stable condition at Orlando Regional Medical Center.

Investigators weren't immediately sure what caused the crash. Their investigation was hindered by the remoteness of the crash site.

Sicora had to be rescued by a helicopter because of the density of the undergrowth. Foresters were called in to bulldoze a clear path so investigators could get to the scene.
