What was the most romantic evening you ever spent? What made it so romantic? (Bracing myself for the "Well, I got out the hot wax and the handcuffs" entries...)--Al

On our fiftieth wedding anniversary we were on a Med cruise. One evening after a pleasant dinner with table mates who were as crazy as we were - each one - would say some outlandish thing causing howling laughter at our table and people at tables close enough to hear the talk were laughing at our antics. We did no handstands or physical stuff just jokes and gestures. People were craning their necks at other tables trying to see what the commotion was. Heather and I found a comfortable place aft where there was nothing above us or behind but sky and water. The ship was going in such a direction that the moon was right aft and staring at two hand holding love birds, there were clouds visible, the moon was full or near so, and of course we watched the silvery path so often talked about. Two old creatures, comfortable with each other, taking a cruise that had been just a dream in our hearts. We talked a bit, quietly, happily sharing a mutual love. I really don't know how long we were out there. Until our tired clock rang I guess. It was a wonderful, unexpected evening. Everything meshed to make it perfect.
