The archives are still awarding points to players with positioning on games inside it. I believe that the general consensus was that players could keep their recordings in it, but would not be given leaderboard points on said games. Can either Pat or Zwaxy please fix this?

Secondly, I think we should move the 'banned' "too easy" games into the archives as well, and then we can hold a vote and chuck in the bowling games (well, most of them) and the horseshoe games, which are starting to get a ridiculous amount of ties for first.

If anyone has objections to this, please let me know before I post to the main MARP board. I don't want to overstep any boundaries here, and the quantity of responses to my last ISSUES posting on the main board was pathetic.

are archived games ones with the star in the front of the name? If these are they aren't getting screen shots "forwarded", I.e. if you search for pong you get *pong with no screenshot... something for pat,gb, or zwaxy to fix.

yeah i agree with archiving the too easy banned games, you should check the marp "freebies" link for new games to add to the too easy banned vote next time.

Great! Zwaxy has now modified the archives so that no points are awarded. I will probably put the bowling games and horseshoe games to vote this month, provided we can get enough people out and voting. The 'too easy' games that have already been banned can then also go into the archives if the vote passes. When I post the vote, can someone throw up a link on the news page?

Thanx.

Zwaxy: On a related side note, I need to have a way to delete games after I split them. Currently my "hack" (if I goof) is to archive the game by putting an asterisk in front of the name. It would be easier to just delete the darn thing. No recordings would be lost as they would have been moved under another game's name. e.g. Let's say a game was split and 2 new names are created, but I needed to delete the original. Could this be possible via the text update function???

Pat, what I used to do if I wanted to split "game" into "game-one" and "game-two" was this:

1) rename "game" to "game-one" 2) create a new "game-two" 3) move any recordings which need moving from "game-one" (where they will all currently be) to "game-two"

Would that work for you?

Chris.

Chris,

Yes, that's exactly how I'm doing it now.

But what if I need to delete a game like Pong, or say I've got to many splits and need to consolidate games? Right now my only solution is to archive the game (put * in front of it)...
