Things seem a little slow here. Here is an image that other people seem to like more than I do. I am always suprised that they stop and examine an image that I think is a little plain. I'm curious to know how nature photo intellegensia react.

This is one of those images that would make a great illustration for an article on pine trees, but of which we probobly would not make an enlargement to hang on the wall. I think all of us probobly have files filled with that catagory of images, as we should. I'm always amazed though at what appeals to Joe Public .

It is interesting that you mention that Billy. The original purpose of this image was a story on recovery from the fires and strategies the plants and animals have for dealing with it. The cones on the logepoles play a big role. And yes, Joe Public is difficult to predict.
