Ilford Cooltone

I believe I asked a question here about Ilford's Multigrade Cooltone paper when I first heard of it. So, has anyone used it yet and what's your reaction?

I had never heard of it, so I looked it up on Ilford's site. It is an RC paper, so I won't waste my time on it.

I have tried to purchase this paper but it was on back order from the manufacturer. I beleive that if it is anything like Ilfords warmtone it will be a great paper, RC or otherwise.

This is a new RC paper that is just noticalby colder than the MGRC. John Placko sent me a box to evaluate for them. I used a few sheets and at the time saw the difference, but didn't see a reason that Ilford would want to produce it because the current paper was so hard to fault. BUT after I've used it for things like industrial/technical photos, I've changed my mind. There are many subjects that a cold tone paper will make a good fit. Yes, it's an RC paper and not of much use for 'art' work. But a few of my darkroom clients like this paper when they need inexpensive prints for hand outs, etc. As we can safely presume with Ilford materials, this is of extremely high quality.
