NEWCASTLE UNITED youngster Didier Domi has expressed an interest in returning to his former club Paris Saint Germain - a move which confirms our earlier story about the French side monitoring the defender's situation. To read our earlier story, click here.

The French Under-21 international has been a big hit on Tyneside since his #3.25 million move from Le Championnat 18 months ago.

Domi spent four seasons with PSG between 1995 and 1998 and has stated that he would love to play for Phillipe Bergeroo's side once again.

The 21-year-old confirmed that he had been contacted by the Parc des Princes stadium side, saying: "PSG have made contact with me even though nothing has yet been settled."

Despite this, he stated that he would not be disappointed if he were to stay at St James' Park, saying: "I would love to wear the shirt again, but I wouldn t be upset at staying put for another season.

"The side has gone from strength to strength since Bobby Robson became manager."

Domi has also been tracked by Jean Tigana at Fulham, but the lure of Champions League football with the Paris club could be a deciding factor.

Robson will be aware that he can cash in on Domi to the tune of around #5 million and, with Alessandro Pistone an able deputy on the left-side of defence, the fee could be a major boost to The Magpies' transfer kitty.

5 MILLLION - yes please! YBR prefers a solid left back so why keep him for left wing- too laid back for me ,in midfield.
