I get it now!

I now know why Carol didn't like Doyle. Doyle is the biggest you know what to ever come down the pike. She is such a stuck up snob towards people. I have been watching the episodes with her in it and I just wanted to smack her for being like that. I forgive Carol for not liking her. I'd probably be the same way. But that still doesn't excuse her for not liking Lucy that much. At least Lucy learned unlike Doyle. You would have thought Carol would have given her credit for that. Maybe she forgot about the Doyle days. I'd want to forget that as well!

I know another reason that Carol didn't like Doyle. When she first came on, Carol realized that she and Doyle's sister went to school together. Then Doyle had to point out that it was her "older" sister. Then Doyle mentioned that she tried nursing school, but got kicked out because she didn't like to take orders from other people. She basically demeaned the job of a nurse and Carol took offense, as she should.

I just watched Hazed and Confused, so I was searching for a thread about Lucy and Carol's relationship. I really liked their short little scene in the bathroom (although I don't really like the reason WHY they had the talk); Lucy is talking into her palm pilot thingy and Carol walks in wondering if she's alright because she's talking to herself. Lucy asks her advice on talking to Carter and Carol suggests they talk over a meal, to which Lucy cheerfully agrees, inspired..."oh, like a chat, I like that!" Then of course we find out that Carol is not pregnant when she swears and asks Lucy for a tampon. Although I hated that the show made both Carter and Lucy look that incompetant by needing Mark to intervene, I thought this Carol/Lucy scene would be some comfort to those who wished they had gotten along better. I don't really think Carol disliked Lucy, after all, this conversation occured AFTER the whole thing about the IVs and Carol covering for her. They just had a few run ins on some bad days.
