24 hours to go - Can I request an adjournment?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Repossession : One Thread

I've been rather stupid....I'm in court in less than 24 hours and have only just realised that the 'Reply to possession summons' should have been sent to the court a long time ago. I have no legal representative (I thought I could do it all myself) and wondered if anyone might know if there are any grounds on which I might request an adjournment to give me time to get a solicitor to act for me? I'd really appreciate any help.

Thanks
