Looks like it's curtains for Shearer

Alan has had to put up with criticism before but even he can't ignore this damning indictment from one of the most respected figures in the game!

DROP SHEARER, PULIS TELLS KEV Tony Pulis would drop Alan Shearer from England's Euro 2000 opener if he was in Kevin Keegan's shoes.

The Pompey manager named Michael Owen and Emile Heskey as his fantasy front pair for the clash with Portugal.

Real Madrid's Steve McManaman would fail to make his side while Pulis would ditch the 4-4-2 system he favours at Pompey for wing-backs.

The Pompey boss said: 'Alan Shearer scores goals in tournaments. It's a big decision, but I prefer Owen and Heskey. They give you good balance and pace. Transmitted at 08:45:51 07/06/00

And I see the words...the Pompey manager....tell me again, what's he done at the top level? Memory is fading due to the Cartland thread - writing, it's the new football (or the new black).

I thought this was some reference to Al buying house stuff at B&Q. That would have far more credibility than the blinkin' Portsmouth manager hoying his 2-penneth in.

Ok, which one of you lot rang around looking for a manager to criticise Al? I know you've called every PL manager and got nowt in the way of Shearer bashing comments, so who called up Pulis in desperation?

".... damning indictment from one of the most respected figures in the game!" Tony who??

"...Tony X would ditch the 4-4-2 system he favours at Pompey (sic)for wing-backs". Any clue as to who "Tony" would play at WBfor England, especially at LWB? Perhaps 'Pompey' have two ready-made candidates!
Tony Tosser, presumably!!
