PEPCO Customers Lose Power

About 2,000 PEPCO customers in Georgetown lost power yesterday, after some underground cables caught on fire. A manhole cover flipped over onto the pavement. It took crews 12 hours to get the electricity service restored. Last winter, three manhole covers flew into the air in Georgetown after an underground fire. Yesterday's fire occurred under "M" Street.
