What is the difference between Type I and Type II Compact Flash Memory? Are they interchangeable?

Thanks.

Type I cards are 3.3mm thick. Type II cards are 5mm thick. Devices that are made to accept Type II cards also accept the thinner Type I cards. Those made for Type I cards only use that style.
