Looking for Central Tractor in Iowa

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Years ago I had a catalog from Central Tractor out of Iowa somewhere... they carried tractor rebuild kits, rings, bearings, cams, carberators and right down the line.. but I haven't had their catalog in years....

can't find them on the internet... and was wondering if anyone could help me out... I need to find them or someone similar who would have rebuild kits for a 901 Ford tractor... sadly it needs works...

Thanks...

Central Tractor may have changed names on you. Among other names they go by CT Farm and Country, Country General, Quality Farm and Fleet, etc... All of them are eventually going to be named Quality, but to get to your question a toll free number for them is 1-888-828- 3276. Their address is Quality Farm and Country, 3915 Delaware Ave., PO Box 3330, Des Moines, IA 50316. I looked through our copy of their catalog and they still have lots of Ford parts. Happy wrench turning. Polly

I know they don't have a web site yet and they have changed names but I am ordering parts from them on a regular basis but for Ford tractor parts I have found that I can't sometimes get a better price from a New Holland dealer.

This isn't quite the same, but they're helpful and have a catalog. Central Plains Tractor Parts 712 N Main, Sioux Falls SD 57104 (605) 334-0021

I can't find a catalog at the moment, so I don't know if they have email, a web site or an 800 number. Gerbil

Tell me about it ! Our Farm and Country just changed over to Quality Farm and Country. They were in the process of pulling some old merchandise to stock the new name parts. Unfortunatly, I bent a jackshaft on my lawn tractor at the same time. Their inventory showed two in stock, but where ? After 2 hours of digging thru shopping carts heaped with old merchandise--we found them ! They were most helpful and determined to help me. I guess this is just an applause for that company. I found their service to be above the call of duty. Hope you get equal satisfaction from them ! GL

You'll be lucky to find anything to buy in any of these stores. They are so close to broke and out of business, it's scary. They are not paying their vendors and they're in the process of closing more stores.

Wow, I was wondering what was happening. I saw the NE 14th store in Des Moines had a closing sign up and figured I do a search on the internet to see if I could find what was up...It seemed to me that if that store is closing, they ALL must be in trouble...Unless they just plan to reopen it under the "Quality" name.
