Hello - Anyone game for a discussion group?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Shih-Tzu Talkshop : One Thread

Finally got round to starting a UK based discussion group. I decided to password protect it - just to keep out weirdos, not to be selective in the genuine dog world. Everyone with an interest in Shih-Tzu is welcome. Feel free to pass on the password to your friends in the breed. I shall notify as many people as possible, both here, in the US and Canada, Australia etc.

As Administrator, I will deal with any complaints about the site, and if you have any problems, please contact me. I think it is worth mentioning that this is not e mail, your replies are open to be read by anyone who logs on. Do not give out personal information on here, such as addresses or telephone numbers, that can be done via e mail. I don`t envisage any problems, but I respectfully request that personal attacks on people or dogs should be avoided! This is not a dartboard! They would also well away from the spirit of this BBs, which I hope will be one of discussion, sharing of knowledge, and a happy friendly place to chat about our favourite breed!(:o)

By the way, I`m not sure why I am signing off on here as Galaxy. I use it as a nickname on the Newcastle United site on here, maybe that`s why!(:o)

I`ve been trying a different format, under the heading of Shih-Tzu Talkshop II - but I think this is the best one. So I will just let Shih-Tzu Talkshop II become inactive.(:o)

I am all for a shih tzu discussion group.I think it is a nice way for all us shiddie people to keep in touch, especially when there are no shows through the winter. Its also a way of letting everyone know what is going on in our part of the world.Anyone else interested?

Weyhey! You made it Brenda! This is quite a nice format isn`t it? (:o)

Just a thought about this BBs. Is there really any need to have it password protected, do you think? I am wondering whether it`s really neccessary, and whether it may put people off.

Once we have got lots of people posting, especially from the US and Canada, I can also catagorise questions. For example: Pats on the Back, Litter Announcements, Health Problems, Show Announcements, etc. (:o)

Hi Ros - Thanks for letting me know about this BB. Looking forward to reading many replies , questions etc over the coming months. Have passed the address on to a few people that I think will also contribute Stephanie Walsh, Ireland

What do you think of the format Stephanie?

I used this one `cos I also contribute to the Newcastle United Forum on here! Born and bred Geordie - black and white blood! I love it! Made some wonderful friends on that one, and have been truly amazed at the mix of ages, backgrounds, etc., and total acceptance of same! I appear to be a surrogate mother to large proportion of the Toon Army on that one! I have one 22 year old daughter, but I always said I wanted to have a family the size of a football team - well now I have! (:o)

I am glad there is a discussion group for Shih Tzu's lovers of all kinds. I have been involved in the breed now for 3 years and online for 2 and have looked for anything I can get my hands on about my breed and found nothing. I just started showing a year and a half ago and now am researching breeding my bitch. I think this would be a good place to post questions on breeding and get some very good advice and help. Thanks for bringing this to us

Hi Brenda! Welcome!

So pleased you have decided to post on here. Whereabouts in the country are you based? Are you enjoying showing? It can be a bit daunting when you start - how are you doing with it? You aren`t by any chance the lady I was chatting to at Windsor? (:o)

Oh Brenda, by the way, you`re not a Seal fan by any chance are you! - Good taste!!!(:o)

hello everyone,I am glad that there seem to be quite a lot of people posting on this shih tzu talk shop.I find it very interestint to read what the different opinions people have on the different subjects.I also think its a nice way to keep in touch,as there are a few people giving answers that i dont know. But only having been in the breed some 7 years i guess i am still quite a novice and dont know everyone as yet. It's nice that we have a site that is just for shih tzu people,as we all have at least one thing in common.

hello there, one thing roz it would help if you had a spell check for me.at last i am here i think a page on health problems would be a good idear even though we now our little freinds are sound and healthy there are a few with skin and ear problems nothing to seriouse but if we could talk about it and sort it before it becomes a problem ,our little freinds woud,nt have to suffer.but you now what its like oh i dont have that in my lines!!.with todays products and the amount of shampooing we do to our little dogs coats there is no wonder some have skin problems.lets talk.

Hi Jenny! Spellings? Pah!! Not important - it`s your opinions that count!

I have just finished a posting on the `New Dog Laws in Germany` thread. Jenny it is just so awful what is happening there.

I agree, by the way, about a `Health Problems` thread - we all have them at some time or another. I shall instigate one immediately! Hope you enjoy reading some of the postings, and of course, have your four pennyworth too!(:o)
