I originally installed my HP Scanjet 6200C with no problems. Hadn't used it in a while and when I tried to, got an error message saying "Scanner not found". First I consulted "Help" areas with no success . Ended up uninstalling all the files, and re-installing the software. Followed the directions given with the same error results. HP is currently experiencing problems and their e-mail help is offline. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You did not mention which software you are using but I had the similar problem with my Epson scanner. This is what I did after uninstallation of the softwares, drivers and Twain: Install scanner drivers first, then install the Twain and finally install the grahphic software (Corel and PhotoShop for me) which may auto-install the Twain again(you must choose the matching scanner model here) to recognize the scanner.
