Premiership betting for 2000-2001

I've just seen the odds for the title offered by 5 bookies.

The top 6 with are Heath (odds on with all 5), Arse, Pool, Chelsea, Leeds, United. The order is the same for all bookies but the odds differ. Hills on the first 6 go 8-11, 4-1, 5-1, 13-2, 10-1, 40-1. All bookies have us at either 33-1 or 40-1, putting us some way behind the top 5, but they all think we have the 6th best chance which is quite encouraging putting us ahead of Villa, Spurs, West Ham, Everton and The Mackems.

Sunderland are about 11th with most bookies but Stanley puts them 8th=. The odds range from 175-1 down to 80-1 so last season appears to be seen as a flash in the pan.

There's a depressing familiarity about the top 5. I hope YBR can break into this group, preferably overtaking them all.

LR, only 'cos Taggart was clever enough not to (regularly) play 'Phoulup' Neville!
