Carter's med students

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

I just watched "Something New" and I wanted to make a comparision between Henry and Lucy. I haven't seen all of 4th season so I don't know if he has has any other med students besides Henry and Lucy. Henry didn't give a rats as* about working threr in the ER. He thought it was a big joke. He just didn't care about anything except himself. Lucy was completely different. Doug called her a "book worm". Carter told her that she was his first med student who ever showed any promise. She took her work seriously. I mean how many med students would go all over town looking for someone? She cared about the patients and took things seriously. I just wanted to compare the two. If anyone wants to add anything go ahead and do so.

It wasn't that Henry cared only about himself, he just didn't care about the patients. He was very honest with Dr. Carter saying that he was forced to work with patients so he could get an MD/PhD degree. All Henry wanted to do was work in his lab researching diseases. Dr. Carter finally let him do a procedure so he could sign off on his residency and let Henry get back to the lab.

Oh, Henry was just as hilarious as they come. I felt bad for Carter-- there was Anna with her all-eager smiley Chassidy -- remember, not the T, don't wanna get her mixed with *Chastity Bono*, no not at all:)-- and there was Carter, hoping for someone to do his scut work, stuck with Henry. Too funny. Maybe it's just me, but he was a much better teacher to Henry, although his student didn't want to learn, than he ever was with Lucy. What I did admire Henry for was that he was upfront about telling Carter that he didn't give a damn about working with patients. I hope his research about Happy Puppet syndrome and salmon sperm goes well, lol .

I really liked when Henry had his reaction to latex then tells Carter and Anna about having an out of body experience and watching them working together to save his life. I really expected him to tell them they were soulmates and were meant to be together forever.
