unreadable print

Could someone tell me if there is software available that will allow the user to select a specific area on a digital image, increase its size, and print the selection leaving the rest of the image as is.

Yeah, it's called zooming in and pressing the "Print Screen" button.

Let say that you want to select the center of the image and enlarge 200 %, then the enlarged selected area will cover part of the surrounding area (if not all). Any graphic software should be able to handle that easily by: start using the "marquee" tool to select the area either in rectangular, cirlcle, ellipse or freehand shape. Enlarge the selected area either by "draging" or resize or scaling menu tool. You can reposition the enlarged area too if you want. Print the image.
