Might as well go for the sweep...

I'm Owen. I forgot how I found your page, but your writing is great. Very witty and so much more grammatically correct than my own. I'm 18, I live in St. Louis and I hate the radio. I own one record. I love music more than is physically or mentally healthy.

I have a webpage, and after about a year of sucking, it's finally to a point where it's almost good: http://ownlife.trancetechno.com/

I'm not sure what to say, so, I'll talk about music. I like basically every type of music except for rap and country. Well, new country at least, because I like the old, blues-y country from the 30's and 40's. My favorite bands currently: Alkaline Trio, Bright Eyes, Aphex Twin, Sonic Youth and Choking Victim. I also like movies and graphic design.

How I Came Across Amplified to Rock: I help write for Us|Against|Them, although I don't post nearly as much as John or Mark. This is mainly due to the fact that I don't have internet access at work like they do.

Hey, I'm Nathan. I live in Chicago but work in the burbs, which is really stupid of me when they fix every expressway at once. I found this from Jeff's Delusions of Adequacy site, who I write for. Jeff is an indie rock stud. My band's webpage is www.milmulliganos.com. I drive a huge blue van. I like indie rock, but not that nerdy jazz shit which isn't even rock. Thank you.

Now that I've got some semblance of an archive going, I feel ok posting this link to my baby weblog: http://kerplink.pitas.com.

I don't mean it's about babies (an accessory I don't have at this point), just that it's rather new.

I never introed.

I'm Paul. I saw Nanette in real life once! It was great. I run phonezilla.net. It used to have much more content but I scaled back for a number of months. There's new stuff in the works, but thanks to a new job, new car, and new baby (just kidding) I have yet to figure out where the free time will be.

I'm a 22 year old web designer at a local credit union. I also work with the Chicago Cultural Center on an art/web/interactive project (stay tuned), contribute to www.dailyping.com, run www.fluffypillow.com, and work with Chicago In The Year 2000 too. I love cars, music, drawing, the web, big words, my girlfriend, the Simpsons, Snapple Elements, Dr Pepper. While I tend to not like corporate penetration into my life, I use a lot of companies like Ikea, Microsoft, Sony, and so on.

I hate PrimeCo, Jim DeRogatis, Budweiser, and AOL. Also the color purple.

Paul

Man, I thought you were being all existential there for a minute (or quoting past-their-prime Who). Anyway, I been reading Nanette for a while now. Ain't she somethin'? I may have to ask her to be one of my web-beeyotches (see http://users.ev1.net/~mcarterphoto/crush.html) Find all the dirt about me at: http://users.ev1.net/~mcarterphoto/ Find out what I do all day at http://www.mcarterphoto.com The rest? I do footrubs. I like big bowls, and have a cupboard full of 'em. I have lots of nice silky red-blonde hair. When I make manicotti, I use crepes, not pasta "tubes", as god intended. (And from-scratch red sauce and from-scratch spinach-garlic-ricotta filling. And after it's baked, I put it under the broiler for a crispy browned top...). Shit, now I'm hungry, damn you all! Must go find a tube of hit cookies!

Nanette, I just discovered this little thing you've got going here. I must thank you for giving me more ways to procrastinate.

I'm Missy. I'm 28, almost 29. I live in Washington, D.C. and I work for the federal government. My work revolves around econonomics-, math-, and statistics-related stuff. I am, by some definitions, a nerd.

Nevertheless, my reasons for moving to D.C. (over two years ago) were two-fold and equally weighted: Career; Music. See, this is the land of Fugazi, et. al. My apartment is 4 blocks from the Black Cat. If I couldn't go see bands every chance I could get, I'd die. Simple as that.

I have a Blog (as do all the cool kids these days, it seems): http://nowyoulistentomelittlemissy.blogspot.com and a (crappy & problematic) web page: http://hometown.aol.com/mes203/myhomepage/index.html

Nanette alreay knows me, but for the rest of you:

I met Nanette at a student council thing during the summer of '89. We don't have a whole lot in common and I'm really not into this indy rock thing, but its a good way to keep tabs on an old friend.

hi there... so, i got to your page through rainermaria.com...and i must say, i'm intrigued. i'm at work right now, the ER stat lab at the university of michigan hospital; it's early and slow, just one trauma since i've been here this morning...c1 fracture, ouch...well, i too am in love with music. and now that i'm not going to be attending medical school, i'm trying to get my musical career back in gear...i am an aspiring musician. drums, guitar, bass, a man of many modes...but drums by trade, the other stuff came out because of a lack of others to write music with.. i'm a virgo, september 9th. i used to be crazy into the stars, now just a little... so, that's me up-to-date. i've live at home with the 'rents in livonia (about twenty five min. from downtown detroit, on the highway of course), ever since i graduated from michigan state, about a year and a half ago...it's ot too bad, but i really gotta get out. the only problem is that i don't make enough $$ to move out yet. so yer movin' to champaigne, huh? how wierd, i just happened to bring in my HUM tape to listen to down here, good stuff... anyway, nanette, it was nice sharing with you. have a supertastic day !!! tim

Never heard of blog until i read a newspaper article, which mentioned blogger.com, which had a link to Natalie's blog. Liked your story about getting fired -- not the getting fired part, but the feelings you expressed about working a job you've hated. Heck, i'm 51 years old and have hated almost every job i've ever had. Haven't gotten fired yet, but have quit jobs i think four times now. Last time i just finished the project i was working on, handed it to the boss, said 'i quit' and walked out. That was two years ago. Have been trying to earn my living since then by trading in and out of the stock market. So far, without much success. But haven't given up yet. I'm an independent SOB and this is certainly an independent way to work. I work at home, on my computer all day. And what's neat to think about sometimes is that this adventure only became possible with the technology of our times: home PCs, internet, websites, online brokers. So, this old fart has embraced that technology and used it to change his life. And with a little luck, i just might never need to go back to a job i hate again :)

the name is badger...bucky badger; but i go by badger. granted, i'm not the only badger in this wonderful world of cheeseheads, but i'm the only one within a hundred miles that matters.

you see, i've been transplanted in this little hillbilly state i like to call mizzourah. RURAL mizzourah, at that. the only thing that saves my sanity is the web (oh yeah, and trips to st. louis now and then).

seems like we share musical tastes- fugazi, sonic youth; might i suggest some rocket from the crypt http://www.rftc.com

found your blog from blogger updates and enjoy visiting. now, for an end to my mindless babbling, i introduce a shameless plug for my own site: http://www.geocities.com/badgrpackr hope you enjoy some of a badger's world. btw, badger's love it when you sign the guestbook.
