Believe it or not, it's a feeling.

I have the same possessions I had a month ago living with my mother and step-father, but there it honestly didn't feel like "home". (even though I grew up in the house!)

I feel home where I am... maybe not my exact building, but this town and location where I am now... it feels comfortable, familar, like I've been here all along.

That's what makes it feel like home to me. A feeling of contentment and a quiet knowing.

The essential ingredient for me is my family - as a child it was Mom and Dad, then it was my wife and our children, then as they grew up married and moved out HOME is where my wife is, where she and I are happy, where our residence is. But Family !

There are the side things, furniture we are accustomed to, appurtenances we have been using and love. The rooms we have grown into.

But where ever my family is, there lies home. Without family all else is drear.

My home is bliss to me when everything is clean and organized. Just sitting, sipping coffee and reading in a nice clean surrounding is heaven to me. I'm told to enjoy it while I can, since I don't have kids yet :)

Today is one of the last days we'll be in our home. We're moving in with friends. I'm sad.

This is my first home, the first place away from my parents. The first home we lived in together.

The place we came to, after we were married.

The place my husband has helped to take care of me the past 1.5 years since I was hurt.

The place we've dreamed, made love, cried together, just been together.

And now we have to leave it.

I have no place to call home now. The town we're moving to, while it's where I grew up, isn't home. The town we're leaving isn't home.

I'm at a crossroads and I'm not sure which way to go.
