GRAHAM: TOP THREE ARE UNTOUCHABLE (Sky Sports)

Spurs boss George Graham believes it is becoming increasingly difficult to break the grip of the big three on the Premiership title - and he should know. Graham helped break Liverpool's monopoly of the championship with Arsenal back in 1989 and won the title again in 1991 before Manchester United started to take over.

United, champions six times in the last eight years, Arsenal and Chelsea now represent a formidable 'big three' with the likes of Liverpool, Leeds and, Graham hopes, Spurs attempting to break through.

Graham admitted to the Official Tottenham website: "It is getting harder nowadays without question. The way teams build now, the big clubs at the present time only need two players a season to maintain their status. We need more than two. I think with the new television deal, there is a lot of money around and probably more money at the big clubs chasing fewer players.

"It seems to me with the few quality players available, all the clubs are after them. There is too much money chasing too little quality players. It would be nice to get another couple of players ourselves before the start of the season. We're always on the look out."

Graham is currently planning Tottenhams assault on the top six and a place in Europe when the season starts in August.

He said: "If we get into the top six that will be a gradual improvement, which I like to see. If our key players stay injury free that is a realistic target. Top three is perhaps getting carried away. I think we need more quality players before we start thinking like that, but nothing is impossible in football."

Spurs linked with double European swoop (Teamtwaddle)

Tottenham have been linked with moves for top European duo Constantin Galca and Boudewijn Zenden according to reports in the Sunday press. Dutchman Zenden and the Romanian Galca both starred in Euro 2000 and are now reportedly interesting George Graham as he steps up his bid for a replacement for David Ginola who is unsettled at White Hart Lane. Zenden is rated at #10m and is believed to be unsettled at Barcelona, while Galca, who was outstanding for Romania at Euro 2000, is available on a free transfer as he's out of contract at Spanish side Espanyol and is looking for a move to the Premiership, although Paris Saint Germain and Napoli are also believed to be interested.
