Who owns the old National Guard Armonry on Mission St?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : San Francisco History : One Thread

Does anyone know who controls access to the old National Guard Armory on Mission Street? I'm researching Coast Artillery training exercises that used to take place in the building and would very much like to get a chance to examine the interior.

The state of California owns the Armory. Because it no longer functions as an Armory, it maybe leased to the city. It got there after the old armory was destroyed in the 1906 fire/quake. The site was also the main entrance to Woodward's Garden.

Currently there is at least one developer who is making a proposal to the city to turn it into a housing/work area. In the last 15 years it has had a multitude of uses-- including being a film studio.

Hope this helps.
