Want to buy a Cuban?

Norwegian second division side Hxdd has made a deal with the Cuban Football Association, which gives Hxdd the rights to Cuba's national team players. The deal between Hxdd and the Cuban FA is that clubs who want to buy Cuban players, must do this through Hxdd. In return, Hxdd provides the Cuban FA with training equipment. Just recently Hxdd sent 250.000 NOK, #18,500 to the Caribbian Island. This money has been spent on football-equipment, and has now opened new doors for Hxdd.

The Ulsteinvik-club will receive commision on the sales, and according to Hxdd's Geir Sundal the interest is big. "Several Norwegian clubs, also in the Eliteserie, have contacted us. They're a bit curious to what exactly this is, and I expect to find several club-representatives in the stands when we meet the Cuban team at Hxddvoll (stadium) the 23. July.", says Sundal to Fotball247.

Sundal admits that he doesn't know too much about the Cuban players, but it might become a possibility that Hxdd might try out some of the players.

"They are technical, but I guess the faults is in the collective work. There's a challenge we have to work with. It's likely that we might use some, yes. We're serious with this and want to try it. The advantage is that we as a 2.division club can use as many non-EU players as we want to. In the Eliteserie and 1.division there's a limit of one player per team." continues Sundal.

The answer to the initial question is NO.......

These Cunbans......they float around in the water for days on end......they get saved........then their dad's come to take them home in a huff.......

Leave 'em where they are...........

Joking.....only joking......but seriously, I don't think we do want any more South American nationalities........unless they all come with the same kind of clauses that YBR had written into Gavilan's contract.

I wasn't serious about NUFC buying Cuban players ITK. It's just that I thought the whole situation thought provoking. Whereby a single club can virtually have the rights to another nations players, or act as an agent and recieve a fee for any transfer of players from that nation.
