weightlifting injury...head trauma???

i've been lifting weights routinely for about 10 years. recently, i haven't been getting enough sleep, but continued my weight routine. while doing the benchpress exercise, i felt a sudden pounding sensation in the back of my head while i was straining to get the weight up...it felt like pressure building up within my noggin. this occurred on the upward movement of the exercise. anyway, i immediately stopped. realizing that i probably injured myself, i ceased my workout. i waited several days before getting back into my routine. upon attempting to bench, i felt the pounding/pressure return. needless to say, it hurt. can anyone diagnose this injury, and MORE IMPORTANTLY, can anyone tell me what i need to do to make a speedy recovery? thanks, loc

I'm also seeking the answer to this question. Saturday while performing an intense set of lunges, my head began to pound furiously. I did a good 5 minute warm up and was on my 3rd set. Now several days later I'm wandering if I didn't injure myself. My head still hurts just as you described.
