Looking for other doulas in Mid-Missouri

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Doula.Com General Discussion : One Thread

Hi, My name is Jo, and I am working toward qualifying as a certified doula from DONA. I live in the Moberly, MO area and recently opened a service extending in about a 40 mile radius. Currently I am working diligently to notify the area including local hospitals and local health departments and women's services of this area. I have made a good start and I am currently seeking a partner or a back-up doula. If interested please e-mail me. I look forward to any response I get, either in support or as a back-up or partner.... Thanks so much....JO

Hello Jo. My name is Nicki. Every since I have had my first child I have desperetly wanted a carrer in childbirth. I haven't had the time to go to school due to raising children and taking care of my family. I could only dream of a position like this. I would like it very much if you would contact me. My number is (816)-690-4095. Please contact me and make all my dreams come true. Hope to hear from you soon. Sincerly, Nicki Young

Dear Jo,

I am from Jefferson City, Mo. and I have been a practicing doula in Missouri for awhile. I have now moved to Norway, but I can recommend a few people for you to get in touch with if you need support.

Try getting in touch with Dee Dee Farris-Folkerts. Her email address is: tatoobellymama@aol.com

She has recently founded MMDC (mid missouri doula coalition) and can be a great source of help for you.

Good luck! -Leslie

Where exactly are you in Mo? I am currently working towards my Doula certification in NC but, I will be moving back to KS or MO in the spring. Can you give me any info about your business and how Doulas are accepted in the area? Please contact me I want to get as much info as I can before our move this spring. Thanks- Jenny

Jo,

I am a doula in the St. Louis area but have been known to drive as far as Columbia and Jeff City for a birth. I don't think I could help as a regular partner, but I'd be glad to be a backup.

Teri

I am very interested in becoming a doula, can you tell me of in where in Missouri that I can attend training? I live in Southeast, Missouri but would be willing to drive anyway! Any help or advice would br greatly appreciated. I have 5 children, all by natural childbirth. I have my child development associate and working on my nursing degree. Hi Jo, My name is Holly. I am currently a Registered Nurse of 5 years and mother of 4 working in a rural hospital in SW Mo. I would like to start a business employing Doulas, birth assistants, and postpartum Doulas with special training in lactation and will eventually become a Certified Nurse Midwife, when my children are older. I have so many wonderful ideas and many talents to offer women in such a vulnerable time, I feel it is my calling. Please contact me at lactophilia00@yahoo.com. Holly
