Which song?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : R.E.M. : One Thread

"I believe in anything when you are here." Now...which R.E.M. song is that line taken from? This may sound like a stupid quiz question or something, But it drives me nuts that I can`t seem to figure out where that line is from! Hope you guys can help me on this. Thanks.

It isn't from any R.E.M. song. It is a line from a poem that Michael Stipe read out at many shows during the Green World Tour. I don't know who wrote it, but it is a beautiful peace of poetry. Your mind is finally settled! Dan

It is "I'll believe in anything when I AM THERE" not what you wrote above.

I always thought the reading was from the song "String of Pearls". An exerpt of the song immediately followed the reading on tourfilm and since I haven't heard the song I'm undoubtedly wrong. I wouldn't mind finding out who wrote the poem....

"I'll believe in anything when I'm there, I'm certain I've said that before..."

The song after that reading on Tourfilm is called 'I Believe'(Not R.E.M.'s song which is sung afterwards) and was written by another band but I can't remember who it was.
