Random sighting of ER Guests

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

I have been watching re-runs of LA Law on A&E for a few months now and I noticed today that one of the guest stars was a deaf lady with an interpreter who did all of her talking for her and I finally realized it was the deaf Dr. that Peter spoke to about cochlear implant alternatives for Reece and it was the same interpreter. What a great gig these two ladies have going. Interesting way to get into show business.

hey, I flipped to L.A. Law once and saw Eriq La Salle as a guest star. LOL!

The guy that played Dale and CCH Pounder (Dr. Hicks)have also been on "L.A. Law," and Cecil Hoffman was one of the main characters, and she played the mother that was in the car accident in "Fear of Flying," and "No Brain, No Gain." There are probably more connections, too. Oh, and I saw the actress that plays Lydia on "Who's The Boss?" last night.

Just useless pieces of trivia. There is probably a lot more!

The guy who played Dale is also in the movie "The Wedding Singer". He plays Drew Barrymore's fiance.

-- Stephanie (ERGirl22@aol.com), July 11, 2000.

Yup, that guy plays a pretty good a**hole in The Wedding Singer too. They must have liked his jerky attitude as Dale and cast him!

There are also a tone of Northern Exposure references...not only Anthony Edwards and John Cullum (Mark's dad), the infamous Joi Abbott played "Eve" of Adam and Eve on the show. I think even the guy who played Adam might have made an appearance too, or Maurice...that's just a guess though, maybe not, for some reason I feel like they appeared.

The guy who played Adam was Adam Arkin and guess what show he was on? Chicago Hope. Now since there was a rivalry between those two shows I doubt he'd ever be on it. But now that CH was cancelled, who knows?

I'm sorry Elaine. I read the answer wrong.

~Anne Haney, who was on "Mrs. Doubtfire" and in about 1,000 other movies and shows made a guest appearance on ER.

~Lisa Nicole Carson (Carla Reece) co-stars on "Ally McBeal" with Lucy Liu (mother of Che- che, boy w/HIV. Lui was also in "Payback" w/Maria Bello, and is now in the movies "Shanghi Noon" and "Charlies Angels"

~Trevor Morgan (Scott Anspaugh) was also in the Disney channel movie, "Genius"

~Ellis West was a guest star on "Ally McBeal", and the man who played Max Rosher is now a series regular.

I have about a million of these, I'll post more later.

-- cheese (iluver@hotmail.com), July 12, 2000.

Scotty Anspaugh was in "The Sixth Sense." Max Rosher is on Ally McBeal, I saw Eriq LaSalle in an old Quantum Leap episode. Actually, CCH Pounder was in Quantum Leap too.

-- Kimmy (swiss_cheesed1953@yahoo.com), July 12, 2000.

I just saw tonight's episode of Seinfeld (the one where Jerry and George are casting people for their series) and Mariska Hargitay (Cynthia Hooper) walks in, trying out for the part of Elaine Benes.

Eriq LaSalle was in "Coming to America" with Eddie Murphy. He plays Eddie's girlfriend's ex-boyfriend (does that make sense?). It's kind of hard to recognize him since he's sporting a different hairdo- anyone who's seen the movie will know what's I'm talking about. He played a not-too-nice guy in the movie.

Hey i happened to be watching Rocky on TBS about a week agao and I noticed in the sen after the fight with apollo creed and Rocky was coming out of the hospital with adrian before he asked her to marry him there was a patient in a full body cast that asked for Rocky's autograph and when I looked at the face it looked a lot like Rocket Romano...... I tried to look for the credits at the end of the movie but i missed them. Does anybody know if he was in the movie or am i just placing er stars on other peoples faces.

-- mary (kstcmom@yahoo.com), July 17, 2000.

Yes, that was Paul McCrane in the full body cast. That voice is a dead giveaway & the credits did show his name. Must have been right after Fame, huh?

-- Linda (l.brown@mindspring.com), July 17, 2000.

I've never heard of the movie Fame before until Rosie mentioned on her show. I was very young when it came out though, so I have a good excuse there.

-- Cammie (rmaelhorn@home.com), July 17, 2000.

Have you seen it yet, Cammie? It's a hoot to see Rocket in his younger days, with hair, singing...

-- Cecelia (evilstoat@hotmail.com), July 18, 2000.

I love Fame! Its one of my favorite movies! Romano always reminds me of "I sing the body electra..." :)

-- Adorra (er_chick24@hotmail.com), July 18, 2000.

No I haven't yet. Can you get it at your local video store?

-- Cammie (rmaelhorn@home.com), July 18, 2000.

You should be able to, Cammie. I don't think its that hard to find.

-- Adorra (er_chick24@hotmail.com), July 18, 2000.

It's a pretty well known movie, Cammie, I'm sure any video store would have it. It should be in the musicals section. :)
