July 12, 2000
An electrical feeder cable failure briefly left 2,500 homes and businesses without power in Queens yesterday afternoon, Con Edison officials said.
The power outage, which occurred at 5:23 p.m., affected parts of Maspeth and Middle Village, a Con Ed spokesman said.
Power was restored within 45 minutes.
Con Ed crews were investigating what caused the feeder cable to fail. Electrical use yesterday was average, the spokesman said.
