The Sunday Age 16 July carried a full page interview with Kerry O'Brien. Commenting on the possibility that the 7.30 Report may be moved to a later time slot, he said:

"To move to any slot outside prime time is a huge move. The ABC tradition is that its daily current affairs has been in prime time. Once you move away from prime time it becomes very difficulty to go back. People are constantly looking for ways to change current affairs. That it itself is not a bad thing, but there are only so many ways you can reinvent the wheel."
