Which character of another TV show...

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

As we have already had most favorite, least favorite characters and episodes, I thought it was time to start a different thread. So, which character from another TV show would you most like to appear (as a guest) on ER? No actors- characters only! I guess mine would be Ally Mc Beal- for the comic relief part, but I must admit I have to think more about it myself. Anyways, who is it?

I really think John Cage should come in as Rocket Romano's half brother. Both of them are kind of nuts and funny as well. Think if the poor family!

One problem with Ally McBeal characters is that they're in Boston, and you'd have to come up with a reason why they're in a Chicago emergency room. Also, they're on different networks, but we don't care about that, do we? :)

Hmm. How's about Buffy for a great walk-on character? She's on special assignment to destroy the hellmouth in Chicago, and by a strange coincidence it's right beneath County General's ER. Dr. Dave falls madly in love with her, but alas, a Master Vampire bites him and so he must worship her from the night...And Kerry ends up staking the Master Vampire with her cane/crutch (what the heck is that thing called anyway?).

(Actually I haven't watched Buffy in a long time, though I used to love it.)

That's so strange that both of the previous threads mentioned shows that are watched a lot in our home. I love Ally McBeal and would love it if the reruns were on like they are for ER. My daughter has all of the Buffy shows on tape and I have to admit it's a fun show. And hey, if the character that plays Reese's mom (Carla) can do Ally and ER, so can the other characters and some of them are pretty easy on the eye. Perhaps Ally could check herself into ER when she starts to hallucinate and see the dancing baby again. Sorry for the ramble, I've been awake way too long. Good night!

George Clooney left "Sisters" to be on "ER". They're both set in Illinois. I always thought it would be interesting if Teddy was at a fashion conference in Chicago, got sick and ended up at County General. Dr. Ross would see her, she would see him, they'd recognize each other, but not figure out how they knew each other. Unfortunately, that never happened--I thought it would be romantic.

Personally, I would've loved to see Gary from 'Early Edition' on 'ER'. Hey! They're both in Chicago, why didn't he save Lucy & Carter when he read it in the paper?

Cecelia, let's just add Xander (from Buffy)as the new desk clerk, and Chicago's hellmouth would be perfect- though I actually want Jerry back as a desk clerk, but we have had so many of them lately that one more won't count.

So that's why "Eary Edition" was cancelled. Because Gary didn't save Lucy and Carter. I am just kidding. But it would have been niice to see him go save them.

Speaking of "Buffy" is it just me or does Sarah Michelle Gellar look alot like Kellie Martin? I read in an article that Kellie is sometimes mistaken for Sarah. They do look alot alike to me.

I'd still rather have Andrew the desk clerk, I think he was great on MadTV. Hey, here's an on-topic idea: The Vancome Lady from MadTV has to come to the ER and get treated for a (I don't know) black eye or something. And she tries to hit on Dr. Dave. Lalalalalala... :)

I think they should do a Friends crossover. Noah and George have been on Friends, don't you think its one of the Friends' turn?

-- Adorra (er_chick24@hotmail.com), July 18, 2000.

David Schwimmer (Ross from Friends) was on ER already (of course I forgot to do a search for which episode--argh!) as a doctor, but you never see his face. He was half asleep, and Carter went to wake him up to ask him some questions, so you heard him talking but all you could see was his feet. I thought that was pretty funny.

Maybe Ross could come to Chicago to visit a museum, and he'd have a dinosaur skeleton fall on him and they'd bring him to the ER, and everyone would mistake him for that sleeping doctor, and I have been up WAY too late. :)

Ceclia, yeah, I knew that. It was in the 3rd season premeir "Dr. Carter, I Presume." I love your idea! But then again, I have gotten veryy little sleep in the last week! :)

There's a Buffy/ER crossover fanfic on a.t.e.c right now. It's called "Abby the Vampire Slayer" and it's about... well, you probably get the point. But it's by Barry Ward (I think) and it's really funny. Anyone wondering what that crossover would be like should check it out...

-- Julia (dauphine_01@yahoo.com), July 19, 2000.

I saw the first part of that one, Julia, but I haven't been back there in a while. I'll have to check it out, I remember it was pretty funny. Just the sort of kick Abby need in her unhappy life. :)

It's on alt.tv.er.creative. If you want to get stories that were posted a while ago, go to deja.com and do a search.
