Has anyone actually heard anything from The Management? Anything about their plans, I mean. I asked them, but they haven't replied - perhaps because I was kinda rude to them (making a comment about it would be nice to get a reply for once).

In response to the concern that the folks responsible for the demise of DB were those who complained about LG, I would like to call your attention to two facts:

1. They had a policy they made no permanent attempt to enforce.

2. They copyrighted the words we posted there. So, when someone made a death threat, Mr. Trudeau became the "owner" of the words and had some degree of legal liability for them! He has relatively deep pockets as well, and I am sure that between GRC and I we could find one or more "trial attorneys" who would need little excuse to go digging around in his pockets.

It was vital that they change something - either their policy, or their copyrights, or both.

The people being victimized, namely those who were providing entertaining conversations as well as insightful political commentary, did not bring about the demise of DB as it was.

That was solely the doing of the OWNER who ran a one way street there. That's Mr. Trudeau, whether he knew it or not. He demanded all of his rights and offered nothing in return.

So, he got his pay off in the end.

Those of us who write, and analyze, and anal-ize, and discuss, etc. can do so elsewhere and will. In fact, this isn't too bad a site structure and is very similar to DB 4 years ago!

Hat, if you post a new thread, (like you did this one), you need to uncheck the box that asks if you want to be notified of email responses. Either that, or use a fake email address when you start a new thread. If you're just posting a reply it doesn't matter.
