Gloria, Kellie, and Julianna hit the NY stage

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

I don't know if I've ever posted this information on these boards before since I usually stick to posting on the newsgroup and the WB boards, but I thought I'd share incase those in the NY area would want to go see these 3 live onstage. :-)

GLORIA REUBEN will be appearing in "The Vagina Monologues" off-Broadway at the Westside Theatre (here in NYC) from July 25 - August 6th. Right after that, from August 8 - 20th, KELLIE MARTIN will be in the show. And *then* from August 22 - September 3rd, JULIANNA MARGULIES will appear in the show.

HOW excited am I!!! I have second row for Gloria on July 30th, and I've just purchased tickets for Julianna for September 3rd. (they couldn't tell me where the seats were cuz their systems were down when I called for tickets at 2am last nite when I found out she'd be in it for those dates :-)) I'm holding off on Kellie Martin for now cuz I don't have any friends who'd wanna go see her, and I'll live if I don't see her, I'm not terribly concerned.

Anyway. This should be much fun! I'm amused they're doing it all in a row. They REALLY should have put them all in the same run! Since there are 3 women at a time in the show. (There is a long long list of celebrity women that are set to appear in the show, and every 2 weeks its 3 new people) Not to mention if they were all in it at the same time it would save me

So it's like an ER reunion for those three that left this past year. Cool!

Okay. Is there any reason as to why the last few letters/words of nearly all my posts don't show up? I've always just ignored it, but its getting a bit baffling cuz it not like I don't finish typing. It just happened with my last post about the Emmys as well. "nominations" got cut to "nom". Anyway. It should say "save me much money" at the

What's "The Vagina Monologues" about? I've heard of it but I don't know what it's about.

I saw Calista Flockhart on Conan O'Brien talking about it. I think she has a pretty big role in it. That is so weird that they are all going to be in it, and as Cammie said, all the girls who left ER this year! Why all at different times? Does anyone know what kind of characters they each play? It seems like this is a new play that will probably make it pretty big...there are casting a lot of TV stars in this, and I've heard a lot about it.

FYI... I also read where Gloria Reuben would be starring with Billy Zane in "Sole Survivor" a movie adaptation of the great book by Dean Koontz. I am not sure, but I think it is being made for cable.

From what I gather it is a one-woman show based upon the book of the same title by Eve Ensler. The author did interviews with a hundred women discussing their bodies. It is about "being a woman, an individual and a survivor". Others who have starred in it include Winona Ryder, Calista Flockhart, Glenn Close, Whoopie Goldberg and Rosie Perez. The actresses are doing this as a fund raiser and all proceeds will go to organizations combatting violence against women.

Andie, I've never seen the play, but from what I have heard it is a bunch of women who get up on stage and give monologues and talk about (guess what!) their vaginas. No kidding. I think it's a play about female sexuality or something like that. From what I've heard about it, it sounds like it would be really boring. Maybe that's why they keep trying to get well-known actresses to come and be in it, to try and attract an audience. I think it has been around for several years because when I was in college somebody had a poster for the play hanging up on the dorm wall. I don't know how much money it has made.

I bet I know why they aren't all on at the same time. It's so that the theater can make more money that way. ER is a popular show (even though today's emmy noms may say differently), and since those three were on the show the theater probably thought they could make more money from having three of them at three different times instead of once.

The reason Kellie and Julianna aren't on at the same time is because Julianna hates Kellie big time. Julianna has been jealous of her from the first day they met. In fact Julianna once told Kellie that she should have died instead of her sister because she's such a pain! That's why!

ROFL anon.......nothing like a good snert to remind us of the sick world we live in.....

I have to agree Andie. I don't know if Julianna and Kellie are friends or not. I hope they are. But I don't think that Julianna would ever say something that mean to Kellie or to anyone else for that matter. So Anonymous needs to get a life!
