ER stars previous work-the good, the bad and the ugly

greenspun.com : LUSENET : ER Discussions : One Thread

Have you seen stars from ER in other things. If so, like what did you think of them? I loved all of Noah's work, from Crooked Hearts to The Myth of Fingerprints. People say Crooked Hearts was awful, and I admit, it lacked some substance, but he was wonderful. It was hard watching him in Swing Kids cuz playing a Nazi is soo...un Carter. And Anthony Edwards in Top Gun was ok, I've never been the biggest AE fan. Julianna Margulies was REALLY excellent in Paradise Road. George Clooney was great in the perfect storm, but I think at times he's typecast, like when he was in Fail Safe. I think that's all I've seen with everyone. Has anyone seen that Noah Wyle flick There Goes my Baby? What about any Erik Palladino movies? Or anything else?

Erik Palladino was in U571. I haven't seen it yet. I think George Clooney is OK in the movies that he has been in. I think I liked Three Kings the best, although I have not seen The Perfect Storm yet. AE was GREAT (I thought) in Top Gun. Goose stold the show for me. Noah was great in The Pirates of Silicon Valley and had an excellent small role in A Few Good Men - "no sir...three squares a day, sir". Laura Innes was in Deep Impact in a very touching role. Eriq LaSalle was in Eddie Murphy's Coming to America in a role he would probably rather forget. Goran Visnij has been a couple of movies too...The Peacemaker (w/ George) and in Practical Magic.

I absolutely loved Myth of Fingerprints. I have a thing for families, and I found the interaction in this movie very interesting, and I think that Noah was wonderful in it. I liked Pirates of Silicon Valley a lot as well, I think it showed Noah's ranges of ability, since it's Steve Jobs is kind of more tempered that John Carter. Fail Safe was ok, I didn't think it was that great. I love the Perfect Storm and Three Kings as well. And Top Gun is always a favorite. But I haven't seen many others besides those.

I thought Fail Safe was good, but I didn't care for George Clooney's role in "Perfect Storm". Maybe because there was no character development. Noone's mentioned Anthony Edwards in "Fast Times at Ridgemont High", but that could be because 1) he had hair and 2) he played Sean Penn's crony, and SP stole the movie from all the other stars.

I saw AEdwards in a film where he had hair, too, but I forgot the title. He only had a small role, John Cusack's college friend, and I think, Daphne Zuniga (sp?) was in it, too. I liked it, it was funny.

I almost forgot anthony Edwards in Revenge of the Nerds....now there is a quality movie! LOL!

I thought "The Peacemaker" really sucked and both George Clooney and Nicole Kidman were terrible in it.

I wondered if anyone other than me ever remembered that Noah Wyle was in A Few Good Men, although I admit I'd forgotten that he was in Swing Kids- thanks for reminding me, I'll have to go back and watch it again! I remember people having mentioned a Top Gun connection, but with that connection and Noah having been in A Few Good Men, there's a Tom Cruise connection too- useful if you ever play 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon, although Noah gives the entire ER cast a 1 degree move...

The movie with John Cusack and Anthony Edwards is called The Sure Thing. I am a huge John Cusack fan and own almost all of his videos (including this one). Anthony Edwards plays his friend who convinces him to visit in California for a dated with a girl who's "a sure thing". The girl is played by Nicolette Sheridan.--good movie.

Carin...as a teen during the 80's I am a HUGE John Cusack fan too. But I have to say I don't think I have ever seen Sure Thing. I think I'll have to go rent that one! Thanks!

I know Erik Palladino was in "Can't Hardly" wait (a teen flick) where he plays the hilarous role as Jenifer Love Hewitt's cousin who starts hitting on her. He has long hair in the movie which looks different. He was also in U-571 which was really good.

I can't wait to see Julianna Margulies in the TNT movie of "Mist of Avolon" (good book). I think she will be fabulous, I just hope she doesn't fake an old english accent!

Has anyone seen Goran Visnijc in "Committed" with Heather Graham and Casey Affleck? He plays an artist who falls in lust and then in love with Heather Graham's character, who travels from New York to Texas looking for her husband. His character is absolutely hilarious and too hot for words! This is true escapist entertainment; even my boyfriend, who hated so-called "chick flicks" enjoyed it.

They do use an accent, but Julianna won't really be "faking" it. She spent half her childhood in England and had to take speech once she was back in the states to get RID of her English accent. But she has always said she could still pull it up whenever she needed to.

Wasn't Laura Innes on Celebrity Jeopardy a few years back? If I remember correctly, she scored much higher than the other two contestants.

I think George Clooney is a very good actor. I have seen the film From Dusk Till Dawn and it was wonderful to see George in it although he was a bad guy. But I also like Goran Visnij. He is so handsome....... I haven't seen any Erik Palladino movies but I have seen Top Gun and I am not an AE fan too. I like Julianna Margulies and it's a pity that she leaves ER. Please excuse my spelling I am from Austria

Patrica, you are doing fine...

Goran was in "Welcome to Sarajavo." He was fabulous.
