...And then there's that moment near the end when Alice...

What are some of your favorite movie moments? What're some of just the coolest images or lines from the movies?

I always loved that shot in the Matrix where Neo and the gang head back into the Matrix and they're all decked out in black leather and such lookin' all bad and shit. The only reason for that shot was to say "Look how cool these people are."

Then there's the whole opening sequence of The Lion King... the rest of the movie sucked so bad compared to that.

Or in The Commitments, when an Irishman says, "I'm black and I'm proud!" to a confused group of onlookers.

In more recent moments, there's some stuff near the ending of X-Men that just made me grin and wriggle in my seat and threaten to get weepy all at the same time. (I won't spoil it for those who haven't seen it.)

I could go on, but I won't.

Oh man. Zorro. How could I forget Zorro?! I was particularly fond of the dance scene myself. :)

The duel between Inigo and the man in black. The scene on the bridge near the beginning of the Shadow. The fight scene towards the end of Big Trouble in Little China, with mooks attacking each other, the mid air sword duel, and "It's...all in the wrist."(reflexes? It's late. Memory...not so good.) The Head on the Desk scene in Zorro. Strip Fencing in Zorro.

There're others, but that's just off the top of my head.

American Beauty, When Jane and Ricky are walking home from school.

Pump up the Volume, the Dance scene outside.

The beginning of X-Men, wonderful intensity. Anna Paquin's nose in the scene on the train with wolverine.

Run Lola, Run, the casino scene.

Braveheart, Short scene of the princess walking down one of the castle halls being happy and in love.

Gladiator, The fire arrows streaking through the grey morning.

Sleepy Hollow, "I have shed my tears for ---, yet my heart is not broken. Is that wicked of me?"

There are many more, I love movies.

One of Jason's favorite movie moments is the scene near the end of "The American President" when Michael Douglas gives his State of the Union speech and ends with "I'm Andrew Shephard, and I AM the President."

Princess Bride definitely has many of those "moments:"

"Inconceivable!" "He's just MOSTLY dead!" (raspy scary voice:) "The Pit!" (hack, hack, cough, cough, continue in normal Cockney voice:) "The Pit of Despair." and of course, "My name is Indigo Montoya," (sp?!) "you killed my father, prepare to die!"

There were a couple in "The Patriot" that gave me goosebumps (SPOILER ALERT!): the chalk-white face of his young son as he dies in Martin's arms, the tattered flag waving against the sun as Martin is cut down in the final battle...I didn't think I was that much of a red- blooded 'merican, but parts of that film really moved me.

p.s. off topic: I don't know how to insert a link to my site in these forums -- I tried recently and failed miserably -- so, you'll have to email me if you want to know who I am! (or, give me a clue as to how to do that!!)
