I became old enough to vote in time for the 1984 primaries, and I voted for Jesse Jackson. I later read in the paper that only 3 people in our town had voted for him. When I admitted to my family that I was one of them, my grandma started laughing...she and my aunt were the other two.

I don't actually regret doing it, but I wish I'd informed myself a little better and not made an emotional choice the first time I voted.
