I borrowed a lens and did macro photography for the first time last Saturday. The end of July is a little late in the year, and it was cloudy, wet and windy, but I found a few subjects in an empty overgrown lot in Auburn, Washington -- including this mean looking fluff ball:
I didn't want to bother everyone with more than one image, but if some of you wouldn't mind, I would appreciate comments on the 4 images I posted up to photo.net: click here

Bob, If this is the result of your first foray into macro, the rest of us better just get out of the way! This is great - super idea and a wonderful image. Keep it up. For what it's worth, I think this is publishable quality work.

Bob,You have to make your presentation public on photo.net. I like this one though!

Sorry about the photo.net presentation. It should be okay now. (Haven't they done fantastic job with that site?) I would especially appreciate your expert opinions/advice on the bottom image. The depth of field might be too shallow, although it's actually pretty much what I was trying for.

Well, the leaf is my favorite. The bottom daisy is a bit shallow in focus, as you say, but it isn't terrible. If you wanted to limit focus though, I would place it a bit further forward (closer to the lens) than how you've got it. Nice shots all in all.

AWESOME.One nitpick. The bluish fringe in the back seems out of place somehow.
If you do this again (and I hope you do :>), a source of backlight would add drama.
Cheers, Keith
