Class Leaders

The concept of class leaders as practiced by AMEs is an interesting concept for church organization. However, my experience since joining in 1994 is that the implementation of the concept is riddled with inefficiencies. I'm curious if others have had similar difficulties in making this concept operational.

The class leader is a sub-pastor, and if one is conscientious, can be very effective. For effective implementation, the leader has to be trained and dedicated. Classes become little families within the larger church membership and do serve to keep a congregation intact when they operate correctly, with love and dedication. There are publications which provide useful on the work of the class leader. They are available from the AME publishing house.
