Are you good at it?

Are you good at something you are not very interested in? at least not enough to do as a full-time job? Does this question even make sense?

I'd better answer my own question... I ask because I was thinking today of both hubby and myself. A lot of people say I have a way with children, and I'm really good at looking after them, teaching them etc.. and not just my own kids, everyone else's as well. My house is always full of kids.

But I do not have a desire to work in a daycare or school. In fact, I think it would drive me insane.

Same goes for my husband, Ron. He is a math whiz, doing calculations faster than you can type it in a calculator, and doing our own taxes (ever do the self-employment forms?) practically blindfolded. Even after aceing accounting courses in college and being really freakishly good at it, he has no desire to be an accountant.

i'm good at my job, and yet i hate it. i'm the business manager at a publishing company, and i do just as much desktop publishing as i do managing. i hate them both. i have also done my fair share of sales, another thing i'm good at, and i hate it just the same.

i know where you're coming from. completely.

I am very good at debating. A nervous, stomach-wrenching, calm on the outside, screaming on the inside wreck throughout the process...but excellent at debate nonetheless.
