E.Goshen Twnshp, PA y2k billing error

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Grassroots Information Coordination Center (GICC) : One Thread

It's been many months since I've checked in here, but I had to post this one. My quarterly trash+sewer bill arrived in July with a big yellow sticker across the envelope: "Y2K ERROR, correct due date is 7/31/2000". Sure enough, on the bill itself was a due date of 7/31/1900. My twnshp manager told me in April of 99 that "we are fully prepared" and "we've got extra generators for the sewage pumping station". Until this billing errata, there has been no evidence of any glitches locally. At least I'm somewhat vindicated in the eyes of friends and neighbors!

At least you would of had the trash and sewage handled.
It would not be so bad as to have a bogus bill, but to have the stuff backup and pile up would be bad.
Unless, you had a bill for a gazillion dollars and it was past due! And "they" were planning to turn you off!

Glad you at least had something to vindicate you from the gloating of your freinds and nay-boores.

Sharon,

Did they just update their billing software?
I don't understand why it would just be starting
at this late date if they hadn't.
