greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I'm looking for a source for heritage (heirloom) non-hybrid organically grown seeds -- preferable one that has a website I can check out. Any suggestions???

I suspect you are looking for The Seed Saver Exchange. Last address I have is RR 3, Box 239, Decorah, IA 52101.

Trcy..Check out the Heirloom Seeds website as well as Shepherd's Garden seeds at www.shepherdseeds.com. I'm sure there must be many more.

I bought some stuff from Baker Creek Heirloom seeds this spring. I'm happy with them. They are local for me, but do most of their business mail order. http://www.rareseeds.com/ is their web site.

Abundant Life in Port Townsend Washington has great rare and heirloom seeds. My home office is in the process of being reborn, so I can't find my catalog to give you the address at the moment. I have purchased from them, and found them to be worth my business. They have a lot of grains, too...specialty ones like amararanth and quinoa, lots of varieties.

I think I posted this before so it should be in the archives. Good luck.

Rogo, I started to address an envelope for Sand Hill and realized we're short one number in the zip code. I'm not familiar with this company, it looks wonderful! Thanks in advance.

Yes, indeed, my lovely! OK, I'm getting weird again, but it's been a long day! Seed Saver's Exchange is the best, in my never to be humble opinion. I have been a member for years. If you would like to see what's available, I will send you last year's "yearbook", which lists, let me think, in excess of 11,000 heirloom plants. e- mail direct, and I'll give you the specifics. And GL to all!
