My absolute fave song of REM is , but what does the song say exactley.I`m always hearing the song when I4m sad-this song is really great.I love it.I would know what you think about the song.

I think it's simply a road song - about hidding the road, and travelling or something. But I always interpret it as some kind of suicidal song, like someone's reached a point where they can go no further, and they want to end it all. I'm sure this isn't what it was intended to mean, but that's what I get from it, which is one of the beauties of R.E.M. - the ambiguity. You can take any meaning you like from the songs and apply it however you want. I'm sure I've seen Stipe quoted as saying something about how he wants people to make up their own minds about songs, and that's how I see "Leave".

Karl that's a great interpitation of Leave. It make's sense really. I always thought it might be about Michael's touring woes but I'm pretty sure i'm wrong about that. Oh and the ironic thing is that Departure is after Leave......hmmm k i'll stop.
