Where's Gayla?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : FRL friends : One Thread

Hey Gayla!

If you read this (which, of course, is somewhat in doubt, since this board is not widely read by the general population, but then, nothing ventured, nothing gained) please drop me an email. You may be able to verify something from your area.

Thanks.

Gene

Now, for all the rest of you, you can just evesdrop on our conversation by asking for a copy of our email correspondence. Just post your real email address to this thread, and we will send you copies. How's that for cooperation? :-)

Don't know where Gayla went, but I just got back to work after a week recovering form a second story fall. Did I miss any news?

Did I miss any olds?

Only a chipped finger bone, bruises and scrapes where I landed on the bricks and concrete below.

It didn't hurt anything else (although my back's still sore - Drat, no dancing for month!) - I landed upside down on my head.

Sorry to hear about your fall. And very glad to hear you are ok. Had a friend fall from a ladder a couple weeks ago. He also landed on his head, and was killed.

Falls are bad on us old folks. We are all pleased to hear yours had a happy ending.

A Happy ending?

-- Robert A. Cook, PE (Marietta, GA) (cook.r@csaatl.com), August 16, 2000.

Wellllll, at least the middle was interesting - but I missed the ending for reason. Didn't miss the bricks though.

Robert! You are absolutely forbidden to die without my permission. Permission to Die forms are unavaible in spite of requests. Dammit, you be careful!

-- helen (home@home.home), August 17, 2000.

Yes ma'am. Sir!!!!!!!!! Yes ma'am!!!!!

Robert, what do they do for a chipped finger bone? Is that a broken finger? Is your whole hand in a cast? Or do you just get popsicle sticks for that one?

-- kritter (kritter@adelphia.net), August 20, 2000.

How are the bricks??? ;-)

Glad to hear you're OK. (((((Robert)))))

-- Gayla (privacy@please.com), August 20, 2000.

Robert, Were you working without your safety straps on? Well, we are all very glad you are ok and only have minor damage, The same thing almost happened to me on Saturday, as we had part of the roof torn off, exposing the trusses, and almost fell through them down to a concrete floor......I didn't have my safety straps on, either....

HEy my name is gayla are you looking for me

-- Gayla (button_bear@yahoo.com), October 16, 2002.

Robert, despite rumours to the contrary you are not superman so please don't be jumping off buildings. Remember that t/shirt slogan from the 60's "gravity sux". I do hope you don't have any lasting injuries and are not sore for too long. Take care.

Gene, please accept my condolences on the loss of your friend.

This is an OLD thread but it made me smile to re-read it. :-)

We miss you Helen!

Hello new Gayla, not a very common name huh?

-- Gayla (oldie@but.goodie), October 16, 2002.

I feel a story coming on ...

-- helen (got@that.story.feeling), October 16, 2002.

Go Helen, you GO girl! It's about time!! When the spirit move you, you know you will have a willing audience!

-- Aunt Bee (Aunt__Bee@hotmail.com), October 16, 2002.

Lol, sorry about replying to an old thread. That will teach me not to take a quicky net-break while I am working. I look forward to your story Helen.

-- Carol (c@silly.me.com), October 17, 2002.

Story! Story! Story! :-)

(We miss you too, Gene!)

Oh Helen, I am sitting on the edge of anticipation, eagerly awaiting your next story to share! Please, MAKE IT SO!

-- Aunt Bee (Aunt__Bee@hotmail.com), October 20, 2002.

Helen's testing ....

....but we don't know what she's testing.

Dd it work?

Is Lon regular, or are his nuts still oddly metric?

-- Robert A. Cook, PE (racookpe@earthlink.net), October 20, 2002.

I believe Lon mentioned pecan ...

-- helen (hurrying@hurrying.fast), October 21, 2002.

Is Mr. Frankenstein Pecan nuts?

No, but I thought I saw him him furtively lookin' over the fence at Gayla ...

He might be a pecan' Lon.

-- Robert A. Cook, PE (racookpe@earthlink.net), October 22, 2002.

Helen??? Oh, Helen?!?

Is it story time yet? Huh??? Pretty please with berries on top???

-- tricia the canuck (jayles@telusplanet.net), October 25, 2002.

No berries, please.

This Lon's peekin' pie thread.

(An Lon's peekin' pie is still 3.14 square celiciuses in cubic centimeters/metric inch ....)

-- Robert A. Cook, PE (racookpe@earthlink.net), October 25, 2002.

Don't tell me you've gone metric, Robert? I think a metric pie is a fraction smaller than an imperial one, so we must be missing out down here. However, pecan pie is always good.

How's the story going Helen, hope it's not a gory story? (That's the limit of my rhymability).

Tricia, they had a competition on the radio last night and the last question to win all the prizes was "What is haiku?" Now I not only know what it is thanks to you, but how to pronounce it as well. Pity I can't write it, eh!

-- Carol (c@oz.com.au), October 29, 2002.

Hi Carol. Congratulations on knowing about Haiku! Now, don't you be discouraged about not writing them yet. None of us knew how to at some point, and all of us had to learn. Uncle Deedah (Unk) taught most of us, and you can pick it up whenever the feeling moves you.
