I have a pottery sculpture signed J.W.Lindner '42 depicting a young man in overalls holding a hat and leaning on a wooden fence. The face is so feminine that at first I thought it was a woman. The colors are earth tones with touches of green and a few reddish flowers. There is also a label on the piece that says "New Art Wares" # 427 or #437 - there is wear on the label, so I'm not sure. I don't know if this is the same Lindner, but the time period is right. I haven't been able to find out anything about him/her, but would like to know more, too.

I recently purchased a set of J.W.Lindner sculptures in Tenn. They are a couple, a farmer and a girl. Both are leaning on a fence. I paid $60.00 a piece for them. They are not bronze. I fell in love with them, as soon as I saw them and am also curious about Lindner. They are both dated 42.

I recently inherited a pair of the statues, like the ones described by Gail Drexel, after my aunt died. I remember them in my Grandma's house from many years ago. They are also copyrighted 1942 and are from New Art Wares (#547). I too would appreciate any information regarding J.W Linder.
