I'm taking my T90 plus 300TL on holiday. I plan to take my AE1 as back up. Will the flash work with this camera, even if just in manual mode?

As I understand it, it will work, but only in manual mode. It will (if I remember correctly) give you a flsh ready indication in the viewfinder. I would think about taping over the contacts to avoid any potential for problems and forget about the flash ready indication.

Or you could pick up a 299T and use it on both.
