Do you think I should discontinue the forum?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Internity : One Thread

No one ever writes here except me and a few people I know in "real" life. What's the point? It's just extra work for me.

Of course, I'm really just hoping this will spark all kinds of posts that say "NO! I was just waiting for someone else to post first, but I'm inspired now!" and the forum will come alive.

What do you think? Should I just keep patiently posting questions? Or discontinue it until I have more readers?

Oh, sure, I see how you are, you asshole.:) I have to write this steamy entry about you to get you to post? Well, okay, then. I wonder what would happen if I wrote a sexy entry about Pamie? hmmmmmm..:)

*lighting a cone of incense and placing it inside Luthur's mouth*

*chanting a non-sensical mumble and making gestures for some unknown spirit to rise from the dead*

*giving up because my incense burner seldom answers my prayers*

Hang in there. When your readership picks up, which I think it will once more people catch on to reading the `zine, I'm sure the forum will pick up too.

I don't know exactly how one increases one's readership exactly, except maybe through joining multiple collab's... or creating your own while bored in a foreign nation's hotels (sssshhh!)... or by being BLESSED by the hand of god... I mean rob... I mean god... (bah, in the online jouralling world, what's the diff?).

(Oh yeah, there is a diff, Rob is likely real.)

Hmmm... I've digressed it seems. Um... err... well...

NO! I was just waiting for someone else to post first, but I'm inspired now!

Well, this is actually my first time here and I don't have time to stay and keep reading all the way down right now. You've piqued my interest so far but I'm rather scatterbrained, so it's hard saying when I'll be back (I did bookmark your site though). I'd hate to have come by too late (after the message board is abandoned) and have missed out on a chance to ramble on and on and maybe, just possibly, have some witty and intelligent retort to keep me amused and motivated. So often, I go ignored or misunderstood, or am simply bored shitless by the mindless idiotic (and often hostile) drivel which permeates so much of the interactive 'net.

But then, who am I that you should really give a shit of my opinion? You DON'T know me. Not my 'net presence, and not in RL. I'm sure you never saw my site (when it was actually a site I paid attention to), and I wonder if you would have bothered to post in my message board if you had (especially since I WAS the ONLY one posting to it, and not nearly as proficiently has you, here). It's possible that I'll be back to read more here, and that (if amused enough) to continue posting--whether that makes it worth your while, I wouldn't presume. Anyway, I like what you're doing here (of what I've seen so far), but I've got to go for now. Maybe I'll see you again. And maybe I'll get to some of your real questions.

Peace and good luck.

(and if you're wondering if I'm just some random psycho--well, I guess I am--but I mean well)
