I love E-bow the letter and i am wondering about the meaning of it. That song makes me feel a lot of "emotions" e when i listen to it i think a lot...maybe it has been written with the goal to make people feel full of feelings...like when you're writing a letter...maybe he is singing what you can feel writing a letter...uh...dunno!!! ...puuuuuulls us neeear,taaaaaastes liiike feeeear...

I think only Michael himself knows what the hell this song is about. The lyrics are an actual letter that he wrote to Patti Smith, which is why she contributed backing vox to the song.

what the song is about and not...well thats really just for us to ponder.But the funny thing is.That aluminium actually do taste like fear.Or well...the other way around. Ok...you are running,from something or someone... You`re scared...whats the taste you get in your mouth? Yup,this Iron weird kinda taste. In other words it is...the taste of fear;aluminium. I remember Stipe saying something like this himself in an interview. I can't recall being all that afraid in the nearest past though The last time I had the taste of aluminium in my mouth was running from a bully in second grade.If I can recall correctly I think his name was John.And he wanted my lunch bow... Stipe wore braces right? he could have gotten a hard time of it for wearing them and in turn when he wore them they struck fear into him.
