Everyone's invited!

I've been testing & playing with a "vicinities.com" commmunity -- and I love the way it works.

I've set up one for Exile ... as a test ... and if people really like it better than this plain message board, we can switch to using it (or at least keep the new one as an adjunct to this board).

It has all sorts of incredible functions -- but I'll leave you all to discover them when you get there! Honest -- it's incredible. I love it!

Here's all you need:

URL = http://www.vicinities.com/exile-test

Password = buddha (all lowercase)

That password should grant you instant access as a member of the community at vicinities. From them on, you can either go straight to http://www.vicinities.com/exile-test, or you can go to www.vicinities.com and choose "My Vicinities." Exile will be one of your communities shown on that page.

I hope everyone tries this out -- I'm very excited about this piece of community software. It is NOT a replacement for VP. NO WAY! But it is a great message board, place to post pictures, audio files, video, link lists, full HTML documents ... just about anything! And anything can be linked to anything else and made into a discussion list (message board). It's some of the coolest software I've seen in a long time, and you guys know I write about this for a living. (And no, I do not work for vicinities! LOL!)

Desdra -- just sent you an email & sent a direct "invitation" from the Vicinity software to you at the hotmail address you have listed above.

But ... it got bounced. Says that email address doesn't exist. Can you give me one that works, and I'll send along that direct invitation, so you can join no matter what?

(It may be that you didn't type in all lowercase or something -- I'll check the general password, too. It may also be that the vicinity software was burping that day on you.)

washie -- long ago they changed the URLs at what was Vicinity to "Community Zero."

So far, I really like the new community too. I hate to admit it but I actually added to the leprosy haiku in the discussion area. Now I must deal with the guilt... : )
